[8]. Surah Al-Anfal [The Spoils of War]
Ayat 12. (Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes."
English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Abu Abs Abdur-Rahman bin Jabr reported: The Messenger of ALLAH said, "It will not happen that the feet soiled with dust while (doing Jihad) in the way of ALLAH , will be touched by the fire (of Hell).
'' [Al-Bukhari Hadith # 2811].
Lesson:
As mentioned above in Surah Al-Anfal Ayat 12 "so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes." "Fight for ALLAH's cause", "Feet soiled with dust'' means participation in Jihad. That is to say, a person takes part in Jihad and yet goes to Hell is altogether impossible. What it signifies is that Jihad is a means of expiation of sins and that it guarantees the admission into Jannah, provided he is not guilty of major sins. This exception is confirmed by other Ahadith.
