English Translation of Al-Quran

[7]. Surah Al-Araaf [The Heights]
Ayat 174. Thus do We explain the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail, so that they may turn (unto the truth).
Ayat 175. And recite (O Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) to them the story of him to whom We gave Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), but he threw them away, so Shaitan (Satan) followed him up, and he became of those who went astray.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Allah excuses and grants forgiveness to a person until he attains the age of sixty years". [Al-Bukhari].

Lesson: As mentioned above in Surah Al-Araaf Ayat 175 "the story of him to whom We gave Our Ayat but he threw them away, so Shaitan (Satan) followed him up, and he became of those who went astray.

(1) This Hadith makes it evident that ALLAH (Subhanahu Wa Taa'aala) does not punish any individual or nation without warning them first.
(2) The second point is that a person who is given sixty years of life and yet he/she neglects the obligations of Faith, will have no excuse.
(3) After the age of sixty years, one must not neglect his/her religious obligations because then one is closer to death. Although one may die even at a young age, in youth one is still hopeful of life. After crossing the age of sixty, to hope for longer age, while leading a sinful life and defying Divine injunctions constitute a disastrous conduct. May ALLAH (Subhanahu Wa Taa'aala) save us from doing so.
